When not to wait for an appointment
In Norway, call 113 for a sudden extremely severe headache, new paralysis, speech difficulties or loss of consciousness. For back pain with new loss of bladder or bowel control, numbness in the saddle area or rapidly worsening weakness: contact urgent medical care on 116 117 immediately.
Call 113 if the situation seems life-threatening.
These are examples, not a complete checklist. The absence of these signs does not mean symptoms are harmless.
If concerned or getting worse, contact a doctor; call 116 117 if help cannot wait.
